WASHINGTON COUNTY SPAY/NEUTER PROGRAM

Eligibility to this program is limited to county residents who do not reside within the city limits of Springdale or Fayetteville.
Proof of Washington County residency is required. Acceptable items to document proof of residency include any item with your name and physical Washington County address on it. Example (Driver's license, mail, a utility bill, etc.).
Appointments are made by coming to the shelter, filling out an application, and paying a non-refundable fee (cash or check) per animal.
This program is intended for family pets only. This program shall not be utilized by breeders, rescues or any person for the purpose to sell, adopt or release an animal to another person.
Limit three (3) animals per household per year.
Services must be utilized within 45 days of approval date.
Arkansas Law requires a current certificate of vaccination for rabies signed by a licensed veterinarian. If you cannot present a certificate with the application, you will be required to pay an additional non-refundable fee for the Animal Shelter to vaccinate your animal for rabies and issue a certificate.
Fees:
- Dog Spay or Neuter - $75
- Cat Spay or Neuter - $55
- Rabies Vaccination - $10
- Microchip - $10
REQUIREMENTS FOR SURGERY
If your animal does not meet the following requirements on the day of surgery, it will be turned away without a refund.
- Dogs and cats only
- Must be healthy
- No fractious dogs
- Must be over 3 pounds
- 80 pounds or less
- Over the age of 8 weeks
- Maximum age 7 years
- Males must have 2 testicles - Cryptorchid (undescended testicles) $50 additional charge.
All animals receive the following:
- Sedation and general anesthesia
- Spay or neuter surgery performed by a licensed veterinarian
- Tattoo near surgery site
- a post-operative 24 hr. pain injection
- E - Collar
- Tender loving care
